Push Notifications

DQue Mobile provides push notifications to keep you informed about the status of your HPC jobs even when you’re not actively using the application.

Installation Steps

Section titled “Installation Steps”
  1. Visit the DQue Mobile website on your mobile device or desktop browser
  2. Select the “Add to Home Screen” or “Install App” option in your browser
  3. After completing the installation, you’ll find DQue Mobile on your device’s home screen or app list
  4. When accessing through the installed app, you’ll be prompted for notification permissions

Notification Types

DQue Mobile sends notifications for various job-related events:

Job Status Updates

Section titled “Job Status Updates”
  • Job Completed: Notification when your job finishes successfully
  • Job Cancelled: Alert when a job is cancelled
  • Job Failed: Notification when a job fails to complete

Each notification includes:

  • Job ID: The unique identifier for the job (e.g., [400], [401], [402])
  • Status: The current status of the job (COMPLETED, CANCELLED, FAILED, etc.)
  • Job Name: The name of the job (e.g., My_Test_Job, My_Test_Job2)
  • Timestamp: When the status change occurred

Notification Center Integration

The notifications are fully integrated with your device’s native notification system:

  • On iOS, they appear in the Notification Center
  • On Android, they appear in the notification drawer
  • On desktop, they appear in the browser or system notification area

You can:

  • Tap or click on a notification to open the DQue app and go directly to the relevant job details
  • Dismiss notifications by swiping or clicking the close button
  • Use the “Show less” or “X” options to manage multiple notifications

Notification Settings

You can customize your notification preferences in the app settings:

  1. Go to the Setting tab from the bottom navigation bar
  2. Select Notifications
  3. Choose which types of notifications you want to receive:
    • Job completion notifications
    • Job failure alerts
    • Job cancellation notices

Permission Requirements

When you first install the DQue Mobile app or access the web application, you’ll be prompted to allow notifications. To ensure you receive job status updates:

  1. Allow notifications when prompted during first app launch or website visit
  2. If you previously denied notifications, you can enable them in your device’s settings:
    • iOS: Settings > DQue Mobile > Notifications
    • Android: Settings > Apps > DQue Mobile > Notifications
    • Desktop Browser: Site settings > Notifications
